Description

Antique pine plank top, scrub top, kitchen dining table made around 1900 probably. Turned legs painted grey at some point, then waxed. There are brass tips to the legs where there were castors. This should seat six well enough. The planks on the top have slight gaps between them; we've put a supporting baton underneath to keep them all aligned. Condition is pretty good structurally: it's solid enough; some very slight movement in a couple of joints but we've glued and screwed any that weren't tight enough. The planks are slightly cupped but not too bad. The paint on the base is quite worn in places which we think works well with the brown wax finish. The top has various marks, scuffs and knife scratches, as well as some saw marks on one corner (plainly it doubled as a work table when not being used for kitchen prep..). It's all rather nice really but have a look at the pics as it might not be your thing. There's very little finish on the planks: possibly a coat of matte varnish giving a bit of colour but I'm not totally sure. It could be oiled for water resistance but you might prefer to leave it as it is. A few worm holes underneath: old but we've treated it anyway. Check there's enough leg room for you as this is perhaps a little lower than modern tables. Dimensions: 137cm x 88cm x 69cm high (leg room height 56cm)
